"Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book."
- Revelations 22:7
This guy is great - giving us alot of good historical information in his videos - BUT I dont agree with everything he says. But I love his presentation and this is a great, short history.
I wasn't raise in a Christian home. My mom was English Protestant and my dad was Irish Catholic and they grew up in England and Ireland when Protestants and Catholics did not even walk on the same side of the street. My mom's family was not religious, but my father's mother was and was very mean to my mom when they got married because she was upset she was not Catholic. But, my mom was so gracious and loving that when my grandmother came to visit, we would go to Catholic church to honor her.
It was a family friend and a neighborhood lady who asked my mom if she could take me to church on Sunday's as she taught my grade in Sunday school - 4th grade. When I went to Sunday school and heard the stories of Jesus, I knew instantly they were true. I felt the Holy Spirit come upon me and I have never doubted. I can feel it as if it was yesterday. I was so convinced it was the truth, that I used to go home after church and beg my parents to believe. I would promise my mom I would be good and rub her feet, just so I could tell her stories of Jesus. My mom died suddenly of an aneurysm when I was 20 years old and a student at UCLA, and I am so thankful that I found cards written to her by me, where I was still begging her to believe in Jesus. I am not sure if she ever accepted him, but I have to assume she did, because the other option my mind won't compute.
My father is still alive and does not believe, but I am trying my best - all the books I have written, this whole website - to make sure he does not leave this earth without accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, as I believe it is the only way he will spend eternity in heaven with God and all those who believe.
So, as you can see, my Christian faith was not forced on me by my family, it has always been a choice and a choice that has come at a high price in so many ways. After my mom died and I was a student at UCLA, I walked around the campus totally confused on where she was and how I could ever live life without her. This event caused me to read the Bible like never before and cry out to God begging Him for comfort and answers, etc. It also caused me to take several history of religion courses and talk to the religion department professors at UCLA, even though I was an Economics / Business major. I was on a journey to make sense of life and all of my investigation and research not only supported the Bible, God and the claims of Jesus, but made me fall more in love with Him and know that He was worth living for.
Because I believe it to be the truth and the only truth, I want every person to believe! I love you too much not to be bold and I have spent my life educating myself on the Bible and watching and reading everything - even the skeptics - to make sure I know what and why I believe. Because if it is the truth, then there are those who I love who will perish in hell for eternity if they do not believe, separated from God and all that is lovely and perfect, because TRUE LOVE has to give choice.
Below are some great resources I have found to show you the steps to becoming a Christian. They are simple and the same I took when I was in 4th grade. It is just to believe in your heart and to confess with your lips that Jesus Christ is God and the Lord of your life who came down in the form of a man to pay the price for all of your sin (watch my video on Sin to fully understand why He had to do this) so that you could be reconciled again in the presence of a Loving, Holy, Perfect God who cannot force you to love Him, but has done everything in history to make it so easy and a free gift to believe.
Follow the STEPS, watch the videos and if you come to faith or believe, please email me because nothing in life makes me happier and I want the privilege of celebrating with YOU!!!! Because now we will be sisters in Christ for all eternity, might as well start the party now. YEEHAW!!!
Dear God, my Father - I believe in Jesus - your Son, who came down to earth to die on the cross for my sins so I could be reconciled again to a perfect, loving God who created me to be in relationship with Himself! I know I am a sinner, only saved by Your Grace and not works, and so I ask You for forgiveness, to forgive me of all my sins. Because I am asking sincerely, You have heard this prayer and have forgiven me instantly - of all of it - none of my sin is left and all has been forgiven and paid with the blood of Jesus. I accept You into my heart as my Lord and Savior of my life and give You permission to lead me and walk with me and guide me and to protect me from the evil one. I surrender my life to you now with open hands and an open heart. I trust that You know best and only want my very best and have THE best, most perfect and amazing plan for my life, if I will only seek You first and pray to You and allow You to speak to me and lead. I love you so much and thank you so much for saving me and giving me Your Holy Spirit to guide me and teach me all things. Please, Jesus, give me the faith to move mountains and believe the impossible and the wisdom and heart to love your Word, the Bible, and spend my days reading it and learning it and loving it. Thank you that I am now saved for eternity!!!! Amen!!!
The following 1st 4 steps and the videos were borrowed from Josh McDowell's awesome site with amazing resources. And he so graciously tells everyone to use in anyway they can. Love that man!! Thank you soooo much, Josh! And of course I had to have 5 steps :), so the 5th step is mine! xoxo
Step #1 - God loves you & has a perfect plan for you & your life!
The Bible says, "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." - John 3:16
Jesus said, "I came that they may have life and have it abundantly" - a complete life of purpose." - John 10:10
Step #2 - Man is sinful and separated from God.
We have all done, thought or said bad things, which the Bible calls "sin." The Bible says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23
The result of sin is death, spiritual separation from God. (Romans 6:23)
Jesus said, "He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad." (Matthew 12:30)
But there is good news ...
Step #3 - God sent his Son to die for your sins!
Jesus died in our place so we could live with Him in eternity.
"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ dies for us." - Romans 5:8
Paul wrote in Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
But it didn't end with His death on the cross, because He rose again and still lives!!! If you say "YES" to Jesus and accept Him as your Lord and Savior, ALL of your sins - past, present and future - will be forgiven and you will live in heaven with God - PERFECTION AGAIN - for eternity!!!
Step #4 - Would you like to receive God's forgiveness?
We can't earn salvation; we are saved by God's grace when we have faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. All you have to do is believe you are a sinner, that Christ died for your sins, and ask His forgiveness. Then turn from your sins - that's called repentance. Jesus Christ knows you and loves you. He knows your thoughts and heart and everything about you, even more than you!! That is truth!!! What matters to Him is the attitude of your heart, your honesty, your sincerity, your humility.
Step #5 - If you believe and agree with all of the above, then
my heart's desire...
One of the best sermons ever, by one of the greatest men ever - Billy Graham - explaining what a Christian is. Please watch and learn and practice so you can love God first and love yourself and others second! May God bless you!!! xoxo
